Read chapter 2 aloud from: "Somebody's there" to the end of the chapter. Students get in small groups (3-5) and discuss their favorite parts

Place vocabulary words in context
Connecting with a character- in pairs
Write about which character you connect with so far in the story and why

Friday
Read chapter 3 aloud from: "Okay, hold it..." to the end of the chapter. Student discuss their thoughts on this part in pairs
Add students words to the word wall and discuss (words they found difficult, want to know more about)
Discuss vocabulary words as found in context
Grand conversation
Double entry journals- quote and reflection
Lesson: Math- Einstein, the parts of E= MC2
